Song: Monsters by Conner Youngblood
Bio: Shock is the cold-hearted daughter of the manager of the Area. She never went to the training convent but she has become one of the toughest hunters in the business. Shock is a little bit of a seductress and doesn't mind being around men, although the most likely won't make a long term commitment. Shock doesn't participate in the raids on the neighbouring Areas. She doesn't want to be taken for a criminal and be hanged in another area. Shock enjoys sneaking out and raiding the poorer families. She kills them and eats them but also distributes the food among her friends. Shock hates being alone and she has a small circle of friends who are as rich and snooty as she is. Shock is eager for the Hunt. She knows how to be mannered but she also can take out people. The more she can kill the better.

If you get a little squeamish reading about animal cruelty, I don’t know if I’d recommend reading the story. It turned out a wee bit darker than expected.
Shock sat cross-legged on the dusty floor, a dagger in one hand the other empty and open towards the derelict ceiling. She trailed the blade across her palm, drawing a swelling red curve. With care and grace she placed the weapon beside her, her blood from the previous cut sticking to the dagger and pulling away in thin strands. Her lips curled into a wicked smile as her eyes snapped shut and she took a deep breath, her palms hovering, fingers flexed and fanned out. Slowly she lowered them to rest on the rabbit’s side, feeling its racing heart pound against her finger tips, the animal’s soft fur beneath her hands grew heavier as her own blood began invading its small form. She felt the red twist and contort, worming its way under the skin and tugging at its veins until one by one, they ripped open and she could feel her force inside it. The rabbit squirmed in a last-ditch attempt to escape, trying to wiggle out of her grip, which Shock only tightened. Her lips cracked apart as her concentration grew. If the other’s saw how long it took her to Seep a rabbit, she wouldn’t hear the last of it- or worse, if word reached her father, she might even be pulled from the Hunt. Her blood thickened and started pulling the animal’s life force to the surface, draining the creature slowly as it grew weaker and Shock grew stronger. She felt it welling on the surface, the animal’s pulse slow and its breathing degrade into laboured gasps.
“I would’ve finished Seeping it by now.” One of the girls behind her boasted. Shock felt her blood thin and her grip on the rabbit loosen before she lost all control over it.
“I had it, Clary!” She growled, grabbing the closest thing and twisting around to fling the rabbit’s body at the brunette. The girl squealed and flicked its corpse out of her lap. Shock’s eye narrowed and the reached for the dagger only to have a hand placed on top of hers.
“Shock,” Nark cautioned, nodding towards Clary’s younger sister.
Her upper lip twitched and she pulled back her hand, turning her glare on him instead. What gave the boy the right to stop her from maiming one of her friends? She wouldn’t of killed Clary- she knew too many of the girl’s secrets to get rid of her just yet. And besides, Clary’s father was her father’s raider and it could cause some tedious negotiations to keep him under their employment if she were dead. Than again, if word got to her father about how she’d not only left Clary unharmed but she’d also let Nark stop her- he would call it another of her disappointments.
“Don’t touch me,” Shock spat at Nark, getting to her feet to grab his collar and drag him up. She pulled a pin from her hair and stuck it through his palm before pulling it back out and pivoting to pierce Clary’s shoulder. At least now things were back in order.
